2022 PAA Program Applications
July 5th to December 5th
Accepting Pre-Apprentices on a Rolling Basis.
We will be accepting applicants depending on our available budget and position.
PAA is a one-year program that offers access to a subsidized, personalized education with access to state of the arts equipment, professional development opportunities, and apprenticeship in media arts and creative technologies with special outreach to women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+.
Pegasus Media Project (PMP), in partnership with the DFW-area media industry leaders and creative technologies companies and employers, have created the Pegasus Arts2work Pre-Apprenticeship (PAA) program, a blueprint for impacting the future of underrepresented art workers in the film/media industries.
Pegasus Arts2work Multimedia pre-Apprenticeship Program (PAA) is a one-year program that prepares and places potential apprentice artists to work in their area of creative interest. Career-Aligned Curriculum in production, and creative technologies that supports the skill needs of employers in the media arts industry. One-on-one mentorship with media professionals nurturing essential workplace skills and decorum while establishing valuable connections in the industry.
Adobe Certified Associate and production certifications Accredited by Arts2Work - the first ever federally-registered national Apprenticeship Program in media arts and creative technologies. The media arts sector has been completely left out of the national workforce development infrastructure — until now.
Dallas Creative Access is a community-based network of PMP fellows, local organizations, media professionals, and industry-related employers designed to connect artists for employment. In addition, PMP fellows have access to workspace, computers, software, camera gear, and Adobe certification exam for 6 months.
Subsided learning- a monthly stipend will be determined based upon available grants for the selected candidate
Industry professionals will provide hands-on storytelling and technology training, master classes, client project work, and courses in video and audio production, film aesthetics, editing, animation, and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro & After-Effects). You will also get the chance to participate in a series of EXPLORE Career Events, panels, and conversations with industry pros, raising awareness about the career pathways and the opportunities we are developing.

Career-aligned digital media training targeted to the skills needed by creative employers
Industry mentorship in storytelling, video and audio production, essential workplace skills
Opportunity to achieve a credential as an Adobe Certified Associate
Professional Portfolio Development - all Apprentices will create web-based portfolios/reels
Production of client videos for local media companies, organizations and arts groups; projects will be screened at a special public event at the culmination of the program
Access to educational and career counseling and other supportive services is embedded in program structure
APPRENTICE APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
Complete the application
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Some prior media production experience as demonstrated in portfolio submission.
Highly Motivated, Responsible, Life-long Learner, Resilient, Ability to work Independently, and Passionate about their future in the media arts.
REQUIRED ATTENDANCE HOURS:
Total of 135 hours of classroom instruction, and 90 hours of independent or field work in 15 weeks.
TBD by selection process.
Dallas Public Library 1515 Young ST Dallas TX 75201 and various production companies and organizations in the DFW area.
This is a PAID opportunity to ensure dedicated time and focus for the apprentices.
Stipends will be determined based upon available funded grants for the selected apprentices.
